You can verify you have proper drivers installed by checking Device Manager, you should see “My HTC” or “Android ADB interface”.  If you see this, you are ready to go onto the next step.


Step 8. Next open up a command prompt or terminal and type:

For Windows:
cd Downloads
cd fastboot
fastboot oem get_identifier_token

For Mac:
cd Downloads
cd fastboot
chmod 755 *
./fastboot-mac oem get_identifier_token

For Linux:
cd Downloads
cd fastboot
chmod 755 *
sudo ./fastboot-linux oem get_identifier_token


Step 9. Copy the identifier token just like shown below:


Step 10. Go to  and sign up for an account then choose “Unlock Bootloader”.


Step 11. Choose “All Other Supported Models” and click on “Begin Unlock Bootloader”.


Step 12. Next choose “Yes”.


Step 13. Check off the list and click on “Proceed to Unlock Instructions”.


Step 14. Scroll down to the bottom and click on “Proceed to Step 5”.


Step 15. Scroll to the bottom and paste the identifier token you copied earlier then click on “Submit”.


Step 16. You should see “Token Submitted Successfully!”.


Step 17. Check the e-mail inbox you signed up for and you should have received an e-mail from HTC with an attachment.

Download the attachment.


Copy the downloaded attachment into your fastboot folder.



Step 18. Go back to command prompt and type:

For Windows:
fastboot flash unlocktoken Unlock_code.bin

For Mac:
./fastboot-mac flash unlocktoken Unlock_code.bin

For Linux:
sudo ./fastboot-linux flash unlocktoken Unlock_code.bin
